1st Amendment- The freedom of Religion, Press, Assembly, Speech, and Petition
Religion:
We have the right to either have a religion, or to not have a religion at all. We can believe what we want to believe. The reason this was one of the amendments is because, religion was one major reason for colonizing. Many of the colonies wanted to have religious freedom, and that greatly influenced this part of the first amendment.
Press:
We have the right to write what we want on the internet, new, newspaper, or anything. We can interview who we want, and change what they say. While it is a dangerous part of the first amendment, it is an important one. If we weren't able to, then we probably wouldn't know half of the things we do today.
Assembly:
We have the right to hold a peaceful boycott. Many of today great heroes were arrested on un-constitutional way because of having a peaceful boycott, such as Martin Luther King Jr., and Rosa Parks.
Speech:
We have the right to say what ever we want about this country and not get arrested, as long as we do it in a peaceful way. Pretty much everything has to be done peacefully in this amendment to get the right. If a fight starts because you say you hate who is president, you can be arrested, but not for your opinion, but for the fight you caused
Petition:
We can petition anything we want, and we are able to try and change rules if we feel they are not needed. recently, a school lifted the rule to unnatural hair colors because the students petitioned it, and talked to the principles about it, and they made a strong case. Many things like this has happened and that is a peaceful petition.
2nd Amendment- The right to bear arms
The second amendment guarantees the right for all citizens to posses a gun to protect themselves.
3rd Amendment- No quartering of troops
This amendment says that the government can not force you to have troops live in your house
4th Amendment - No Search and Seizure
No one in the government can search your place without a warrant unless you say they can
5th Amendment - Due Process and Double Jeopardy
If you were considered innocent, then you can not get arrested for the same case even if new evidence comes to light
8th Amendment - No cruel and unusual punishment
You cannot have an excessive fine put on you if arrested or given a ticket
9th Amendment - The right of the people
People have several rights that may or may not be listed in the bill of rights
10th Amendment - Unalienable rights
Everything not in the Bill of Rights is protected by this Amendment
